Busy Weekend...the Highlight

The highlight of our busy weekend was the Louisville Christmas parade.  It felt like the entire town was in the parade because there were not too many bystanders.  We tossed out candy anyway from our smooth ride on Papa's tractor.  He hitched up his trailer, add some straw and we took off!

Upcoming Busy Week and Weekend

We are light on photos because Keaton has a terrible cough and is cutting her two top eye teeth.  That must be painful.  There was a lot of "hold you mama" this weekend, which means she wasn't feeling very good.  We've found the best "medicine" is Mickey Mouse and the humidifier on full blast.

There's a lot coming up....

Monday: Craft night at Maddie's house
Tuesday: no plans yet, but I'm sure something will come up!
Wednesday: Tennessee Shines (bluegrass music) with B and Papa
Thursday: turkey and football all day long!
Friday: riding the Three Rivers Rambler choo-choo and meeting Santa!
Saturday: Louisville Christmas Parade, Fantasy of Trees
Sunday: recover from all of the above

The Dress that Mama Made

I made Keaton a dress....a real dress from a pattern...not a potato sack looking thing like I've been doing.  My mom still had to rescue me on a tough part, but I'm proud I made something with sleeves!  Even without button holes and zippers, it was quite the task.  Good thing my model is super cute and makes the dress even cuter!

Keaton's best buddy, Maddie, has a dress from the same pattern that her mama made.  We coached each other through the process! We took the girls to the park for a photo shoot.  Here are two pics from the shoot, but I'll post some more soon.

Keaton loves to swing!

Great Day Full of Fish

This morning we drove down to the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga.  It was the perfect little trip with the perfect weather!  Keaton was happy the entire time and she saw lots of new things. She even held a butterfly on her arm.  We think she liked the butterfly room the best...odd "favorite" for an aquarium visit, but it was very cool.

ready to go!

Keaton also had her first taste of Ben & Jerry's ice cream...yum!  We had the seasonal flavor, pumpkin cheesecake.  We think Auntie Linda would be proud of Keaton for knowing good ice cream at an early age!  Next time we go to Chattanooga we are going to check out the Choo Choo because Keaton loves to say "all aboard!"

BBQ and Gymnastics

Sorry it has been several days since our last post.  Things have just been busy with regular ole life!  Nana and her friend, Mary Ann, visited over the weekend and as always we went to Calhoun's for dinner.  There's nothing more Knoxville than Calhoun's.  Keaton agrees, but she prefers quesadillas to BBQ.

wouldn't this make a great Calhoun's billboard on I-40?

We went to our second session at the Little Gym this evening.  Keaton was a bit shy for a few minutes last week, but she warmed up quickly.  Tonight she talked about "nastics" all the way from school, to home and back to the gym.  She was super excited to wear her fancy leotard (thanks Nana!) and get some exercise with her friends.

Her teachers at school always comment that Keaton is a good helper and she follows directions well, but we rarely see the evidence.  Keaton impressed me at gymnastics tonight because she did everything she was asked to do.  She tried some more skills and was a pro at the bubble popping.

Soggy Bunny

It was a spooky, rainy night....sounds like a storybook Halloween night, huh!?  We invited a cowgirl and her cow and a stinky skunk over for Halloween chili and cornbread.  After filling up on somewhat healthy food, we set out in search of candy bars and suckers!

Fall Festival at School

Keaton's school had a Fall Festival on Friday afternoon.  It was so much fun to have mommies and daddies at school.  The teachers did a super job of making it a fun, special day.  Everyone had tons of fun...games, cookie decorating, cake walk, and Keaton's favorite...sliding on the big kid slide.

Keaton was a fancy bunny this year complete with a tutu and bows on her ears.  There were lots of princesses, some pirates, puppies, skeletons, and lots more.
